Book Shower

Laura Mathiesen and Brooke Williams (mother and daughter and former teachers!) hosted a Book Shower for Kimber. Many of the Northgate staff attended.

Brooke and Laura's book to Kimber was a scrapbook! Everyone drew a milestone for the first year...and then you scrapbooked a page. All I have to do is add a photo!
Kimber received some great gifts!

Andrea Van Buren and Jim Crone were married last weekend on the beach and this weekend they had the reception at the Pilot's Country Club at Peachtree DeKalb Airport...we had a wonderful time celebrating with thier family and friends!

Grandmother's Shower

Before my Grandmother passed away in July - she was so excited about giving me a shower with my Aunt Tracy and Aunt Jen...my Momma stepped in to be "Grandmother". The shower was still at my Grandmother's house on her back porch. I enjoyed the time with family and friends. Kimber received a lot of wonderful gifts!

I really don't know who is more excited - My Momma or me about the birth of Kimber
Fun Story...this was my Kool-Aid pitcher from when I was a little girl. It was passed to Paige when she was born 10ish years ago and now...back to me for Kimber!
Of course...leave it to the artist Di for this wonderful - Mother-To-Be gift...yes, that is hand-painted silhouette. It was a beautiful hand-painted chicken for my craft room!

32 Weeks

I went to the doctor today - every time I go I get excited about hearing Kimber's heartbeat...from the outside-looking-in everything seems to going wonderful. I am still measuring a week early but, the midwife (Sunny) said that as long as it is consistently a week early there is nothing to worry about. She was able to estimate that she thinks Kimber is about 4.5 pounds. As I left Sunny said, "about six to eight weeks and you and Adam will have a baby...".
I am to the point that I don't realize how "big" my stomach is...I am having a hard time moving around the classroom without "running" into students as I roam from table to table - all I can say is sorry and laugh. Today it really hit me...there is a very little path between my desk and the my refrigerator needless to say that is no longer a "short-cut" around my desk...from now on I will walk all the way around!
Kimber seems to move more and more everyday! The students are amazed at Kimber - the past couple of days, as I have been teaching I hear, "OH...WOW!" and I think they are finally getting the math...nope they are all fascinated with being able to see Kimber move.
EXCITING EVENING! I had maternity pictures made by Sara Anthony (http://www.smapix.com/) - I am so anxious to see the pictures - look for the sneak peak on Facebook within the week.

I went to Georgia State University - ZTA Sorority Recruitment on Saturday. It was Philanthropy Day - as the years pass I am still passionate about Breast Cancer Awareness. It was wonderful to see some "old" sisters and meet "new - young" ones. ZTA still holds a very special place in my life - truly made my college experience..jpg)

Well, almost a year has past...where does time go? It seems like just a few days ago Adam and I headed to August to hold Tripp as he was just a day or so old! and now...he is ONE YEAR OLD!
Jessica and Justin hosted a wonderful 1st birthday for Tripp at the Newnan Utilities Park - we had a great time celebrating with family and friends!
