We walked down into what will be the basement for the first time.
The property is full of all these HUGE rocks. We plan to do some landscaping with them.

The excavation for the basement is done.
They were doing the finish grading to make sure it was level. It’s almost time for concrete.

We’ve got a site work permit.
The basement excavation is already about 1/3 finished.

The silt fence is in. We can “officially” start grading now.

We walked down the driveway for the first time. Trees are being hauled away and the house site is starting to shape up.

We have broken ground!

We plan to "officially" break ground tomorrow. The county has given us a driveway number... 08-0030 meaning in 2008 we are only the thirtieth driveway requested for this year (which is low)!

February 2008
Adam and I began our search for a builder in February 2008 – after we meet with several (and I mean several) we finally decided on Chuck Ivy and Scott Thompson.

A little background…
During the Summer of 2005 – Adam and I knew we would be married to each other – we were both currently living with our parents…and soon would be either kicked out or nicely told to get our own place!
.
We both had the same wish – to buy a piece of property and build our dream house. Reality set in pretty quickly. We figured out that we couldn't afford to build the house we wanted on the property. My parents helped us purchase the land so that when we were ready, we could build our dream home.
While the land was purchased on Welcome-Sargent Road – Adam and I found a perfect place to start our lives together in the form of a 1940’s house in the heart of downtown Newnan. We were able to put lots of time and work (thanks to Adam's parents and mine) into it prior to moving in to make it our home.
