First Get-Together

Saturday, November 22, 2008

Christy Sheahan (the world's best math teacher-she was my and Jessica's math teacher in high school) and I hosted a book shower for Tripp, Jessica and Justin's son. This is one of my favorite baby showers to give - Tripp received a lot of wonderful books. It was great to catch-up and everyone seemed to have a great time! Love you Jessica and Justin and Tripp - we enjoyed hosting a shower for you - cannot wait to read you Go Dog Go!

After the shower - "the adults" went home and the high school friends stayed over for chili and drinks. It is always so great to relax and enjoy the company of ol' friends.
If you ever move - have a get-together 22 days later. You will have no other choice but, to have the house in order and it feels good to be done so soon. :)

The decorating is DONE! After several days of rearranging and redoing and relooking and starting completely over...the house is decorated.

Turkey...Moving Too

Sunday, November 2, 2008

During the renovation at the Powell Place house we came across this lovely ceramic turkey in the garage. Adam was headed to put it in the house when my Dad said, "Put it in the back yard dog house." Well, the turkey stayed in the back yard at Powell Place until Sunday. Of course, Dad loaded it up to bring it to Welcome Sargent. He found the perfect place for it...

Yep - We're Alive...

Last Saturday the moving "fun" began! Thanks to several family members and friends we were able to be completely moved by Sunday evening. We are unpacked - just the china and the few random boxes are left. Knox is delivering our dining room furniture tomorrow...so hopefully by Sunday the china will be unpacked!
As for the other adventures of moving...we have lived a week without internet, tv, telephone, AHHHH! Thanks to Verizon (Nope - DSL/Internet is not available everywhere - we could not establish service with any provider!!) we have internet service as of tonight! I have a lot of facebooking and blog reading to do! Hopefully tomorrow Dish Network will (finally) have their stuff ordered and be able to connect us to the television. The telephone is another story - AT & T is difficult to work with! There is a plus to not having all of this...we are unpacked!

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will have some pictures posted - of the move and the house decorated and with furniture.

How Blessed am I!

October 26, 2008

What a wonderful weekend! Tomorrow I will turn 26…I celebrated this weekend with family and friends. On Saturday, we spent the evening with my parents for Momma's spaghetti and on Sunday, we spent the afternoon with Adam's family for good home-cookin'.

As I sit here – reflecting over how much I am loved – I get tears in my eyes. I am so very fortunate to have two parents who cherish me and in-laws who love me like there own.

I received a card from my Momma last week – it is wonderfully written, here it is: (if you click on it you can read it)

Oh - how I cherish my parents! They are such wonderful parents! I adore both of them and value every opportunity I have to make a new memory with them...

Adam and me! I love him!

Every time we get ready to leave - my parents always walk us out and wave like this...they always make me laugh-out-loud! My birthday month has come and is almost over – Adam will be glad on November 1 – I have had a wonderful birthday month. Thank you for all of my perfect presents! I love you all!

Helen

October 10-12, 2008

Adam and I needed to get away! So we went to Helen...

We hiked up to the top of Brasstown Bald. The leaves were starting to change - it was a beautiful weekend to go!

Can you tell how windy it was?

I agreed to hike Brasstown Bald if in return Adam would take me to Cabbage Patch Kids Babyland...I had some great memories from Babyland - this was the first time I ever walked through without purchasing a Cabbage Patch!

Rhonda and Coach meet us in Helen on Saturday - we had a lot of great laughs, wine, beer and food.
Coach even sang a karaoke song...

D.C....Stone Fireplace & Driveway

September 26, 2008

I know...I know it has been awhile since I have posted! Long story short (or as Adam calls my stories - long story long) we went to Washington, D.C. to celebrate Harriet's birthday. We had a blast! My feet took a couple of days to recover from all the walking and I still have a blister! On our return to Atlanta - at the airport - I remembered that I left my spare battery charging in the hotel room! After a couple of phone calls it was safely returned! During the time my battery was in route back to me the current battery died! So...that is why I have not posted.

At 603 Welcome Sargent (we have an address) the stone for the fireplace face was set.
The front porch and half of the driveway has been concreted. They are going to wait closer to very end to pour the rest of the driveway so heavy trucks/equipment does not harm the driveway

As always...your write something...Steele is in the concrete.

Funny Story - On Friday I received a phone call from Sawyer and he said...Ummm Amber I wrote in your driveway hope you don't mind. Of course we could careless but, later I heard from Aunt Paula that he was so scared to call us because he just knew that he would upset me! I love those boys!
