Westbrook Annual Pumpkin Carving

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

What a fun tradition! The Westbrook Crew host an annual pumpkin carving party! It is always a lot of fun - we eat hot dogs, visit with each other, enjoy the fall weather, carve pumpkins, and light the pumpkins on the front porch!

Well, what do you do if you are an "adult" and don't want to carve a pumpkin? and your friend has a "pumpkin" for a stomach...well you paint a jack-o-lantern!

27...on the 27th

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

What a wonderful day! I spent the day doing and enjoying some of my favorite things! Teaching math! eating Chick-fil-a - drinking Rhonda's fresh coffee - spending time with my favorite teachers - talking to my Momma and Daddy and my best friends - eating apple pie - feeling Kimber kick - had a pedicure - reading several Facebook Happy Birthdays - had a wonderful dinner with Adam - and enjoyed the day!

At school some of Mrs. Westbrook's students decorated my door - too cute! This would be a "clue" to many students that it was my birthday while other students asked if it was my birthday...and we wonder what has happened in education....

After I left school - I went to get a pedicure - just in case Kimber arrives any time soon my toes will be pretty! Try not to notice the ankles...it is 9:41pm and my feet are still swollen!
If you live in Newnan - Tony Nails is the BEST!
Adam took me to dinner at one of my favorite Newnan restaurants - 10 East Washington! YUMMY!

Birthday Celebration

Sunday, October 25, 2009

My actual birthday is not until Tuesday, October 27th.

As Adam refers to my birthday - as "National Holiday"! and it is all the fault of my Momma!

My parents - I really mean my Momma - always has made my birthday a huge deal growing up and it has continued through my adult life! When I was a small child my Momma started a tradition that I received as many presents as I was turning old...so this year would have been "27" gifts. In August I received the Nikon D90 camera - which I was told was the only gift for this birthday. To my surprise my Momma did it again...I did receive the other 26 gifts!

My WONDERFUL parents! & 40 weeks pregnant!
I hope I can make Kimber feel as special on her birthdays as I have always felt on mine!

Beaver's Hayride

Saturday, October 24, 2009

Aunt Pam and Uncle Jimmy have started a new tradition...Hayrides for the children (and adults). Adam can remember while growing up - all the cousins would have hayrides at the Beavers!

Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful weather, delicious food, fun by the fire and chasing children...Adam and I know our time is coming. Next year Kimber will be able to ride on the hayride!
Enjoying the hayride!

Pumpkin' Patch - 39 Weeks

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

39 Weeks - Appointment

So - no "real" news! Kimber has done NOTHING...since last week. She has not even dropped - but, I am dilated to HALF a cm...which is a joke!

I have lost some fluid and some weight - which is normal this late in pregnancy - I saw another doctor today and after she measured me at 43 and some weeks she said WOW this is a BIG baby when she felt on my stomach! Hence, me losing fluid means Kimber is taking up the "extra" space.

So next Monday, which she said she "will" see me because of the lack of action this week - I will more than likely have an ultrasound - the ultrasound will determine the size of her head. Based on the size of her head will determine the next step. If her head is normal size I will continue to go through the pregnancy - if her head is large then I will likely have an c-section one day next week. We shall see...she seems to want to stay inside where it is warm!

Can you find the 3rd pumpkin....

On Wednesday when I got home...this doggy was on our front porch. For those who know me...I am not a "real" fan of animals . So when he started at me I was not a little scared but, I noticed that he was hungry because all his little ribs were showing. So I made it a ham and cheese sandwich and gave it some Multi grain Cheerios (you can laugh - everyone else did) - and he ate it all!

I called my Daddy and he was not a fan of this 'lost dog' until I told him it was a Dachshund (before my parents had Jack Russells they had Dachshunds). He agreed they would care for it until we could find it a home.

When Adam arrived home and tried to go towards the dog - the dog took off...came back hours later...and took off again when he saw Adam. We put a box and blanket on the front porch so if it did come back...he would have somewhere to sleep during the night.

Thursday morning - guess who is back! Orville - I gave him a name! This time I went to the front door since he has not been a fan of Adam. Once the door was open he noticed it was me - walked through my door, peed on the floor, and then jumped on the couch! Once he was cornered Adam picked him up and I took him to my parents!

Thursday - Momma took him to the vet. The vet said he would not have survived many more days on his own - he only weighed 11 pounds and should weigh around 20 lbs. Dr. Watts said he was a pure breed Dachshund around 4/5 years old. After a couple of shots, a flea pill, and some medicine...he seems to be in okay health!

My parents - on Thursday - were adamant about found this dog a "new" home but, as the days go on...well, I think Orville is at his "new" home!

38 Weeks

Monday, October 12, 2009

38 weeks measuring a whopping 42.5 weeks! With no signs of her arrival anytime soon...she has not even dropped!

Dr. P. Moore wanted me to have an ultrasound just to get a general idea of how much Kimber weighed because of the large measurement. The ultrasound was a nice surprise - I have not "seen" Kimber since August. Kimber was moving her little hands...and her feet were crossed. The ultrasound estimated that she is between 7.5 to 8 lbs. and the ultrasound tech. said WOW what a LONG BABY!

I asked both the doctor and the ultrasound tech. if they had to guess the day of her grand appearance what would they say...without knowing what the other one said...they both said between November 4 - 10! Now, knowing that Kimber weighs between 7.5 and 8 lbs at week 38 add a half pound for each week...and they don't think she will arrive until 3 weeks later...well that just just going to be a BIG baby weighing in at 9 and 9.5 lbs! We shall see...
